This work is based on a dialogue about living at home and moving out, the differences between Vietnam and the Netherlands and perspectives on this.

Many people in Vietnam live as long as possible with their family. This has different reasons; the main reason is to take care of their family. Many people in the Netherlands move out around their twenties. They want to experience freedom and build up their own life.

Our work is a representation of a Vietnamese family and Dutch individuals. They both live their lives in a way that suits their culture and themselves. We asked ourselves and our surrounding what we think of this, to share this with the audience. We invited the visitors of the exhibition to write down their thoughts upon this topic so it can become part of the work and the dialogue continues.
