Journey to the Windmill Land

Nguyen The Son has been working on his project “Journey to the windmill land”. In this project he continued with the “Carrying the carriers” project that he has done before in Vietnam and America, and now as well in Groningen.

“I bring the carriers from Vietnam – a very common image in the street life of the big cities in Vietnam – to Groningen to interact with the street life in Groningen. This project is part of a public art project I have carried out in several cities over the world. In the eyes of the Vietnamese government the carriers in Vietnam always were considered to be invisible. The struggles of the carriers from the countryside in the big cities have become bigger and bigger. With this project I would like to make the become “visible” and let them confuse local people wherever they appear.”
